Virginia Chance School is seeking an Early Childhood Teacher who reflects the Mission & Vision of the School. Prospective teachers should be team-oriented; educators will work closely with their credentialed co-teacher, teaching team, and the Director of Early Childhood Education. Eligible candidates should be able to incorporate a developmentally appropriate curriculum that addresses the whole child, adheres to progressive education tenets, and Chance’s nature-based approach to education. In addition, candidates should possess excellent verbal and written communication and positive interpersonal skills in addition to being well-organized and timely. Reports to: Director of Early Childhood Education

Schedule: M-F, 8:00 am to 3:30 pm

Salary: Based on education and experience

Position Requirements

A Bachelor’s Degree is required.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred -OR-
A Child Development Associate (CDA), is preferred
In some instances, professional experience may be substituted for education
Professional experience working with children between ages 2-4 years old, is required
Willingness to commit professionally to progressive education tenets, the Developing Capable Young People approach to discipline, Social and Emotional Learning, nature-based inquiry, and VCS’s DEIBJ initiatives, is required
Candidates must have reliable, timely transportation and be committed to timelines
