Job Description and Responsibilities
Giddens School is seeking a creative and experienced PE teacher to work with students in preschool through 5th grade. Our ideal candidate will:

  • Value our school mission and infuse the PE curriculum with a commitment to diversity, respect for all children, families, cultures, and learning styles
  • Be experienced as an instructor of PE, athletics, and/or health sciences
  • Be comfortable and skilled at organizing groups of young children in developmentally appropriate tasks
  • Have a commitment to collaborating with colleagues so that the PE curriculum supports and enhances the overall school program
  • Possess excellent classroom management skills as well as strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Qualifications
We are a professional, highly engaged faculty and we are looking for positive, pro-active people to join us. Strong candidates for this full-time position will have:

  • a degree or certification that prepared them for the work
  • deep knowledge of physical education expectations for early childhood and elementary students
  • demonstrated experience teaching and/or coaching young children

Compensation
Giddens School’s salary scale and benefits reflect our value of teachers as professionals and are competitive with our peer schools in the Northwest Association of Independent Schools. This is a full-time position with hours Monday – Friday 10:00 am-6:00 pm.
