Kindergarten/First Grade Teacher

Position begins the fall of the 2019-2020 school year

NCCL School is seeking an innovative, dynamic, collaborative kindergarten/first grade teacher who will be responsible for teaching reading with a phonics-based approach, and co-teaching writing, social studies, science and physical education. It is important that the applicant has a background in early childhood education and development, as well as strong written and verbal skills. This is a unique, exciting opportunity for a passionate teacher who wants to work in a well-established institution that remains true to its progressive roots.

Founded in 1971, and located in Newark, Delaware, NCCL School (Newark Center for Creative Learning) is an independent, progressive elementary and middle school with an enrollment of 80 students, kindergarten through 8th grade. Small, multi-age classes are led by expert teachers  (10:1 ratio). Graduates leave as creative problem-solvers prepared to thrive in our complex, 21st-century world.
