Website Free Union Country School
Opportunity Overview:
Free Union Country School seeks an experienced and innovative instructional leader to inspire, guide, support, and coordinate the efforts of our eclectically talented faculty teaching Preschool through 5th grade classes. The school strives to realize our fullest potential by fostering the most authentic, integrated, and child-centered learning experience possible. With a cerebral and inquisitive team, an educational niche crystallized by our work through the pandemic, and a pastoral campus vitalized with educational potential, we seek a new colleague who will help refine our progressive style of education, coordinate our efforts vertically, and pioneer and offer leadership in ambitious endeavors now emerging: leadership in natural sciences education for young learners, a multicultural community arts center, social justice and civil-rights centered social studies, and integrated learning experiences. The Director of Teaching and Learning will also provide support and guidance relating to students’ learning differences, and will assist in the school’s admissions process to recruit students who can benefit most from a Free Union education. Through this new position, we hope to diversify our school community in ways that enrich our collective learning experience, and support our belief in education as a vehicle for social and environmental transformation.
