Hanahau‘oli School seeks a Director of Institutional Advancement and Development, responsible for all advancement activities including fund development and fostering enduring relationships with all constituents of the school. A member of the Senior Administrative staff, the Director reports directly to the Head of School, supports the work of the Board’s Advancement Committee and oversees the work of the Advancement Office staff and volunteers.

Hanahau‘oli is an independent school with 210 students, Junior Kindergarten through 6th grade, with single classrooms for Junior Kindergarten and 6th grade, and multi-age learning spaces for K/1, 2/3 and 4/5. The school’s mission and beliefs are grounded in progressive philosophy and teaching methods. Hanahau‘oli means “joyous work,” and nurtures life-long learning for children, teachers and parents. Since the school’s founding in 1918, Hanahau‘oli has honored the natural way children learn – through doing – by making learning exciting, challenging and enjoyable. Job Summary

The Director of Institutional Advancement and Development works closely with the Head of School and the Board of Trustees and supervises a small staff to provide leadership for the development program as it builds a strong culture of philanthropy throughout the school and local community. The goal of the Director of Institutional Advancement and Development is to support the promotion of Hanahau’oli’s mission and vision by ensuring the sustainability and growth of its philanthropic support.
